A. Etats Unis de l'Amerique, Corriges et Augmentes en 1803, by Tardieu, dated 1803 (7.9 x 7.2"). Nice view of the early United States with its western boundary on the Mississippi River and seventeen states listed. Includes a large unnamed Northwest Territory that extends from the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers and includes Illinois. Everything west of the Mississippi is named as Louisiane. Good detail throughout including locating several Army lands (Wabash, Illinois, Ohio, and New Jersey Companies) and numerous native tribes. Printed on a large folio sheet. Condition: Original outline color with light marginal soiling.

B. Etats Unis, circa 1805 (9.9 x 8.2"). Another view of the young United States with its western boundary on the Mississippi River. Features a new Mississippi Territory occupying present-day Alabama and Mississippi. A large nameless Northwest Territory occupies the region north of Kentucky and west of Ohio. Numerous Indian tribes are named and located. Engraved by Semen. Condition: Original outline color with light toning along the left and right sheet edges.

C. Stati Uniti di Arrowsmith, by Pietro & Giuseppe Vallardi, circa 1815 (8.0 x 9.4"). This beautifully engraved, Italian map is based on Arrowsmith's similar map of the United States. The new Territory of Mississippi takes in present-day Mississippi and Alabama. Spain is still in control of Florida. The large, unnamed Northwest Territory is filled with Indian names. Forts, frontier settlements, and native villages are noted including Miniere di Piembo, and Kickapoo Town. There are few place names west of the Mississippi, which is labeled Louisiana. Published in Milan by Pietro and Giuseppi Vallardi. Below neatline at right "Deposto alla I.C. Bibblioteca." Condition: On a clean bright sheet with wide original margins.
