This rare panoramic view of Nuremberg includes a key at bottom that locates 31 sites of interest. Among the sites depicted are the medieval St. Sebaldus Church, the Gothic architecture of St. Lorenz, and Spittal zum Heil: Geist (Hospital of the Holy Spirit), one of the largest hospitals of the Middle Ages. There is nice detail of the city's fortifications, and the Pegnitz River is prominently shown flowing through the city. In the foreground are a number of figures and livestock. An armorial shield and a banner cartouche enclosing the title adorn the top portion of the view. Printed by Augusta Vindel. On two sheets, joined as issued.

Friedrich Bernhard Werner (1690-1776) was born in either Silesia or Richenau. He specialized in panoramic views of towns and traveled around Europe making sketches for various Augsburg publishers. He began to work for a group of publishers known as the Wolf Heirs, which included portions of a firm started by Jeremias Wolff (1663-1724) and included his son-in-law J. B. Probst and Johann Georg Hertel (1700-1775).
