A. Somersetshire, by John Wilkes, from Encyclopaedia Londinensis, dated 1827 (9.5 x 7.4"). This intricately engraved map focuses on the county of Somersetshire. Towns and cities, roads, and topographical detail are shown. Small islands appear in the Bristol Channel. Engraved by J. Pass. Condition: There is light offsetting from an opposing page and a faint damp stain that just enters the neatline at top left. (B+)

B. Cornwall, by Chapman & Hall, dated 1833 (9.4 x 7.5"). This small map depicts the peninsular county of Cornwall. The county's fourteen hundreds are delineated along with towns and roads. Some of the towns have a number nearby indicating their distance from London. The Bristol and English channels are identified. The Eddystone Lighthouse is depicted in the English Channel. A small inset at left details the Scilly Isles. An associated page of text with information about Cornwall is also included with the lot. Condition: Near fine. (A)
