This copper engraved, Ogilby-style strip road map spans three pages over two sheets and features coats-of-arms and descriptive text by John Owen. It includes the elaborate title cartouche and text by Owen about London, which together take up all of page 41. The map itself begins on page 42 in London, laid out in a grid plan, and moves toward the southeast through Dartford, Rochester, and Canterbury before arriving in Dover on page 43. The verso (page 44) features the title of The Road from London to Harwich in Essex... and more text on London.

References: Shirley (BL Atlases) T.BOW-1a #41.

Condition: B+

A nice impression with light toning largely confined to the edges of the sheets and minor show-through of text on verso. The first sheet features some scattered foxing along the sheet's edges, and the second sheet has a couple of small stains.
