This school atlas, issued without title or text, illustrates Willett's Easy Grammar of Geography. It is complete with seven maps, including double-page maps of the World and United States and single-page maps of North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The map of the United States (7.7 x 18.5") shows both the state of Missouri and a large Missouri Territory reaching to the Pacific Ocean. A large Northwest Territory covers present-day Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota, and Arkansas Territory includes present-day Oklahoma. A note about the Great Salt Lake states "The Western Limits of this Lake Are Unknown" with a possible river linking it to the Pacific. Maps fold into gray paper wrappers. Despite its condition, this is a rare and desirable school atlas.

References: cf. Phillips (Atlases) #3385.

Condition: C+

The maps have moderate to heavy toning and foxing and the maps of Asia and Africa have large damp stains. The double-hemisphere world map has been severed in half (with the western hemisphere adhered to the inside front cover), cleanly separating the two hemispheres. Covers are soiled and the back cover is damp stained with manuscript name on front cover.
