This detailed map of the state shows the population and resources of each county including coal, iron, lime, cotton and wood. It depicts the transportation network in the state including railroads, rivers, and proposed canals. At the top of the map is an interesting and distorted bird's-eye view of the upper Midwest to as far north as Minneapolis and Milwaukee. An inset at left depicts numerous shipping routes out of Mobile. Originally published in the Mobile Register in 1890, this edition was produced in an 1892 British government trade report stating that "the inclosed [sic] map of Alabama will give more accurate idea of the resources of the State than the most elaborate description could." Lithographed by Harrison & Sons in London.
