A. Star Maps History, Artistry, and Cartography, by Nick Kanas, published 2007 (6.8 x 9.5"). This is an autographed copy of this essential reference for collectors of celestial maps. It traces the history of constellation and cosmological maps from early Chinese, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and Indian works of celestial cartography through the Golden Age (1600-1800) to the present. Soft cover, 382 pp., with over 200 illustrations, 76 of which are in color.

B. Celestial Charts Antique Maps of the Heavens, by Carole Stott, published 1991 (9.3 x 12.0"). This reference contains superb illustrations of maps by Cellarius, Hondius, Van Keulen, Allard, and many others. It follows the visual history of constellations from the pioneering astronomers to the 88 internationally recognized constellations of today. Informative and lively text explains how mythological characters are represented alongside symbols of science and technology. 128 pages with over 60 full colored illustrations. Hardbound in dark blue buckram with dust jacket.

C. Star Struck One Thousand Years of the Art and Science of Astronomy, by Ronald Brashear, Daniel Lewis, and Owen Gingerich, published 2001 (8.9 x 10.8"). Illustrated with images from rare, historical astronomy books culled from the Huntington Library and the J. Paul Getty Museum as well as contemporary space photography courtesy of NASA, this interesting reference recounts the history of humanity's study of the cosmos. 165 pages plus an index, with more than 150 color images. Hardbound in black buckram with a dust jacket.
