This sea chart depicts the central portion of the western coastline of Sumatra, from approximately Singkil in the north and extending south of Padang. The islands of Musala and Nias are noted offshore, although other islands a similar distance from the coast are missing, including Kepulauan Batu and Siberut. A safe sailing route along the coast is shown along with soundings, rocks, shoals and safe anchorages. The chart is oriented with north to the left. Engraved by Guillaume-Nicolas Delahaye.
