This interesting sheet highlights Cuba and the important port city of Havana shortly after the end of the Seven Years' War. Historically under Spanish rule, Havana was overtaken by the British in 1762, but was surrendered less than a year later in the Peace of Paris, in which the British received Florida in exchange for Cuba. This sheet contains a map of Cuba and both a plan and view of Havana, which had become the third largest city in the Americas. The detailed bird's-eye plan of Havana includes a numbered key identifying 9 locations. Maps by Raspe are uncommon and rarely found on the market.
