A bold and graphic title page featuring a woman representing Geography drawing while an allegorical representation of the Earth (Cybele) sits by her side, with the lion of the Netherlands in front. Neptune sits astride the globe, Atlas bears the firmament on his shoulders, and the angel of Fame blows her horn. Drawn and engraved by Gerard de Lairesse.

Condition: B

Attractive original color with minor refreshing of color, light toning and soiling, and a few short, professionally repaired cracks caused by the oxidation of the green pigment. Remargined at right with a few small chips entering image that have also been professionally repaired with a small amount of image replaced in facsimile. Backed in Japanese tissue.
