This Ptolemaic map, presented on a trapezoidal projection, presents a slice of the ancient world known as Sarmatia. It focuses on the Caucasus region from the modern-day Crimea and Sea of Azov to the mouth of the Volga River and the Caspian Sea. Italian text on verso, published between 1598-99.
