A well-engraved double hemisphere map of the world. In North America, there is a suggested Northwest Passage as well as a Sea of the West , here named as M d'Oues from the outlandish claims of Admiral Bartholomew de Fonte's purported exploration of the Pacific Northwest. Alaska is shown in dotted outline as an amorphous, lengthy peninsula based on the Russian discoveries of Bering and Tschirikow. Australia is shown attached to both Tasmania and New Guinea with a conjectural eastern coastline. New Zealand is shown as just a partial coastline in the South Pacific.
