This uncommon twin hemisphere celestial map is beautifully decorated with clouds in the background and a graceful banner-style title cartouche. The night sky in both the northern and southern Hemispheres is depicted with 1022 stars forming 48 constellations in their human, animal, and object forms. This map is most likely engraved after Sanson, as the majority of the maps in Pufendorf's "L'Histoire Generale et Political, de l'Universe" credit Sanson in the title.
