This very large-format map, joined on two sheets, covers all of Long Island, from Brooklyn to Block Island Sound, as well as Manhattan and a portion of Staten Island. It is color coded to 19 different geologic types, which makes for an impressive visual. In addition to the geology, the map is filled with details of towns, roads, coves, bays, islands, harbors, beaches, rails and lighthouses. The base engraving was completed by the U.S. Geological Survey and updated by Myron L. Fuller.
