This first edition geography book established a nice middle-ground between a school geography book and a large scale atlas. Davies wrote this system of geography to be "more instructive and entertaining than the dry epitomes used in schools…and yet less voluminous and expensive that Pinkerton's". This duodecimo sized book contains 628 pp. of text and 8 folding maps including the World, Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, England and the United States. Rebound in brown cloth covers with gilt lettering on spine.
