This is a lot of 8 documents from the 10th Regiment Cavalry of New York, dated from January and February 1865 while stationed in the "field" of Virginia. Included are Quartermaster requisitions for various cavalry supplies signed by company officers and by regimental commanders, including one by Colonel Matthew Avery (later brevet Brigadier General) who commanded the company. It is interesting to note that more troops from the 10th Regiment Cavalry died from disease than from battle. Included with these original documents is a photocopied one-page history of the unit with dates of organization, campaigns and battles in which they participated.
