This lot contains numerous maps and battle plans, most of which depict battles in Georgia during the Civil War, including the Atlanta Campaign. Shows the Battle of Chickamauga, a large map of the Third Epoch of the Atlanta Campaign with supporting insets surrounding, the positions of the 15th Army Corps during the Siege of the Kennesaw Mountain battle, the Second Epoch of the Atlanta Campaign, and two battle maps detailing the Army of the Tennessee. These maps were issued to accompany the War of the Rebellion, A Compilation of the Official Records of the Union & Confederate Armies, which is the official government publication documenting the Civil War. Nearly 30 years passed before the record could be published. Included are plates 46, 56, 58, and 59
