Interesting sea chart of the Libyan coast from Cap Rusaro (Darnah) to C. Mesurata (Misratah) encompassing the Gulf of Sidra. It is embellished with rhumb lines throughout and is oriented with north and the Mediterranean at the bottom. Decorated with two compass roses and a sea battle between a European sailing ship and a Mediterranean galley ship. A large title cartouche, surmounted by figures and a coat of arms, dominates the upper left quadrant.

Backed with tissue to strengthen an area of damp stain and minor tears at top center. The right margin varies from 1/4" to none, as issued.
