This beautiful etching shows an enormous amount of detail with the prospective from a hill overlooking the city with many figures in the foreground. This production must have taken a master etcher a great amount of time to accomplish. It is a tour de force of etching skills with traditional etching, soft ground, wet point and aquatint evident in the work. Engraved by A. Appert from a drawing by Testard. Not dated, but circa 1840.
