Handsome and uncommon map of Europe showing the political divisions with good topography. The title cartouche pays tribute to the Roman influence in Europe with the earth goddess Cybele reclining atop the monument, which is flanked by Neptune and a Roman warrior. Below the cartouche a group of putti are engaged in artistic and scientific pursuits. The cartouche is dedicated to Samuel Molyneux, Secretary to the Prince of Wales and an important English astronomer.
