This extraordinary facsimile atlas is an exact copy of the Dutch edition of Waghenaer's monumental work. It is complete even to include a functioning copy of the 3-part volvelle. All of the double page maps are tipped in and pasted to binding strips, exactly as the original work was constructed. Printed in the Netherlands, 1964 this is the American Edition that was bound by A. Horowitz & Son and published by American Elsevier Publishing Company, New York. Hardbound in green cloth boards with green leather spine, gilt title on spine and gilt compass rose on front cover. The volume was issued together with "The History of Lucas Janszoon Waghenaer" (9" x 11") which is included here. 72pp. This smaller book is bound to match the atlas.
