This dramatic engraving depicts this early Revolutionary War battle from a decidedly British point of view. While the result was a victory for the British, they suffered huge losses and the battle demonstrated the colonial forces ability to stand up to regular army troops in a pitched battle. The view depicts Boston and the conflagration in Charlestown with British ships in the harbor. It is enclosed in a picture-frame style border. Engraved by John Lodge from a drawing by Mr. Millar.
