This decorative map is embellished with rococo flourishes at the sides and in the title cartouche. Locates all roads and rail lines in the area including steamship routes between Miami, Nassau, and Havana with connections to the East Coast Railway which extends north to Jacksonville where it then connects to the Southern Railway. The map is in the original promotional booklet "Florida East Coast Railway and Hotels, America’s Tropical Kingdom" (11" x 7"), January 1901, by J. P. Beckwith, copyright dated 1900, printed by Matthews-Northrup Co. In original dark green decorative, string-tied wrappers with fine Art Nouveau artwork on the cover. The booklet contains many full-page rotary gravure illustrations from photographs, including the Ponce de Leon Hotel, St. Augustine; the Plaza [Hotel], St. Augustine; the Breakers, Palm Beach; Hotel Royal Palm at Miami; The Colonial [Hotel] in Nassau; The Royal Victoria at Nassau; the Hotel Ingleterra, Havana; Hotel Pasaje, Havana, the Governor's Palace, Havana; plus numerous golf course images. Also, across a double page are golf course layouts for St. Augustine, Ormond, Palm Beach, Miami, and Nassau. Each features nine holes except six at Nassau. Another two page spread presents the three ships of the line: the S.S. Miami; Steamer "City of Key West" and the S.S. Prince Edward. A scarce promotional booklet presenting the tourist with the sumptuous hotels, attractions and recreation opportunities offered by the Florida East Coast Railway Co. in Florida, Nassau, and Havana. A most uncommon piece of advertising ephemera.
