This is a handsome map of the Mediterranean Sea covering from Gibraltar to Greece. The map provides a great deal of information on the countries bordering the sea, both in Europe and Africa. The map is beautifully decorated with Neptune and a sea-god flanking the title cartouche, and sailors, a wind-god and sea-god surround the scale of miles cartouche.

Fine original color and impression with some damp stains and paper loss in the blank margins, not affecting the map. There is some adhesive residue at the top edge of the verso.
