This finely engraved map includes Mexico, a large portion of northern South America, part of Texas and the United States up to Nacogdoches. In Texas, which is named but not separately delineated, many towns and settlements are located including St. Antonio, Guardia de Barca, Guardia de Caballa, Espada, S. Joseph and more. With three insets: "The Harbour and City of Havana;" "The Harbours of Port Royal & Kingston;" and "Jamaica". The plan of Havana is very detailed, showing city blocks and soundings in the harbor with many places named. Colonial powers are named for each area. With the imprint "Harper & Brothers" and beautifully engraved by Charles Copley of New York.
