Uncommon and well engraved chart with most details along the coast except for the suggestion of mountains in the interior. Shows the southern 90% of the island up to Cape Rich. Locates the ominous sounding Widows Bank, the Great Fishing Bank, Madelaine Isles, etc. The "Inland Parts of this Island are Unknown." Compass Rose and cartouche ornament the map. This map is virtually identical to the map Kitchin produced for the August 1762 edition of the London Magazine with a slightly altered title and "For the London Mag." removed from the top margin.
