This is a very uncommon map of the Ottoman Empire. It covers the whole Mediterranean and extends through present-day Turkmenistan in the north and includes Northeastern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. The map is boldly engraved, packed with information and decorated with a fine title cartouche. The map was originated by Delisle, as credited in the cartouche, revised and published by Senex.
