"Carte Geographique, Statistique et Historique de l'Indiana", Buchon, Jean Alexandre

This is the French version of the first separate atlas map of Indiana. More than half the state is undeveloped with the huge Delaware and Wabash counties taking up most of central region and only thirty-five organized counties. The northern part is noted as Frontiere Indienne and occupied by the Kickapoo Indians. Fort Wayne and a fort at Prophet's Town are shown guarding this frontier. The map is surrounded by French text on a full folio sheet (27 x 21"), with a table listing the population of each county (Wabash having only 147 people).

The map image is fine with a nice impression and original color. The larger sheet has a few unobtrusive spots in the margins and lower text.
