The first, circa 1797, is a detailed and well engraved map of the early United States with major cities highlighted in red. Georgia Territory extends to the Mississippi River with the Chicksaw and Chactaw nations located along the Mississippi and the "Big Town of the Chicksaws" nearby. An early depiction of Tennessee as the Tenassee Government has an area "Reserved for N. Carolina Troops" shown in the north. Illinois is a huge unorganized space that occupies today's Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and perhaps more, as its limits are undefined. Within this area are noted the lands of the Nadowessis, Chipawas, Ottigamis, Utawas, and Miamis tribes. Military reserve lands are noted as companies: Wabash, N. Jersey, Illinois, Ohio and more. The land west of the Mississippi is blank. Engraved by Neele, Strand.

The second map, dated 1821, shows today's Canada to the Rocky Mountains and extends eastward to include the southern half of Greenland. There is good detail of rivers and lakes and many towns and settlements are named. In the northwest several Indian tribes are located including the Hare, Mountain, Nathana, Strong Bow, Copper, Black Foot, and Fall tribes. Drawn by Alexander MacPherson and engraved by Cooper. The imprint of Sherwood, Neely & Jones is below the neat line.
