Two appendices are of particular interest: No. 17 Discussion of Pacific Coast Tides, with illustrations of San Diego Bay, Port Townsend and Astoria; No. 8 Report of the Measurement of the Yolo Base, California, which took several years to complete, including planning and acquisition of equipment.
