"Colton's Hawaiian Group or Sandwich Islands", Johnson & Browning

A decorative map with several maps of Pacific Islands enclosed in a decorative strap work border. The upper half of the sheet contains a fine chart of the Hawaiian Islands. The other six panels show the Samoan or Navigator Is., New Zealand, Feejee Islands, Society Islands, Marquesas or Washington Is., and the Galapagos Islands. Excellent detail and finely engraved. The charts on the sheet were compiled from the surveys of the U.S. Exploring Expedition of 1841. All surrounded by Colton's signature border.
