This fine map shows the status of settlement and development in the state in 1881. It presents the large network of railroads, cities, towns and mining communities, forts, and more. There is extensive detail of watershed and topography in hachure. A surprising number of railroads attest to the extensive mining at the time. Approximately thirty-one counties are defined through lovely pastel coloring. "Gray's Idaho, Montana and Wyoming" is on verso.
