A very large and detailed map of southern Africa below the Tropic of Capricorn. It is filled with detail of the settlements in the region including the Transvaal Republic, the Orange River Free State, and the realms of the Zulus, Basuto and other native tribes. This example is between Norwich's third and fourth states of the map with a date of 1872.

Original color on a sound sheet with some toning on the centerfold. The lower blank margin has a couple of short tears, not affecting the map.
