A crisply engraved map of northeastern Russia, extending to Bering's Strait and the Aleutian Islands, and south to a roughly indicated Sakhalin Island (Sagaleen and Ezzo) and Hokkaido (Matmay). The map was compiled from the maps of the Imperial Academy at St. Petersburg, with additional information from Capt. Cook's exploration of Kamchatka. It shows the discoveries of Cook, Petuszcoff and Bering, with a note on Bering's Island referring to his death there in 1741.
