This is a bold bird's-eye plan of the French fortress of Menin and the surrounding countryside. The map illustrates the battle led by Louis XV to retake the fort. The plan is beautifully engraved and decorated with an elaborate title cartouche and compass rose. Engraved by J. Basire.
