A handsome and fully engraved map centered on the Atlantic. It includes small parts of South America, the Caribee Islands, Newfoundland and Labrador, western Africa and Europe. The chart is covered with interesting notations concerning the history of the region, territorial claims and the Spanish gold fleet. Rhumb lines, a compass rose and portraits of Admirals Blake and Vernon in large medallions adorn the chart.

Condition: B+

A nice impression on a strong sheet. The lower binding edge has paper to facilitate framing, and a binding tear about 4.5" into the map has been professionally, and nearly invisibly, repaired.
