This interesting and highly informative report contains four foldout maps of coal mines and a foldout Post Route Map of the Territory of New Mexico... that measures 17 x 21". This is a very detailed map of the territory showing the post offices and mail routes in operation. The routes are shown with different colors to depict the frequency of service, from once a week to six times a week. It also shows railways under construction. A table in the upper left corner names 116 mining districts that are numbered and located throughout the map. Above the title, the logo of the Post Office Department shows a pony express rider and a train. The map is fine (A+). The report is extensively illustrated with beautiful black and white photography, plus an attractive Bird's eye view of the United States Marine Hospital Service Sanitarium at Fort Stanton, New Mexico showing the facility in tremendous detail. 8vo, 574 pages.
