Very attractive steel-engraved group of seven maps on a single sheet. The featured maps is a large and highly detailed plan of Paris that shows the old city with brown shading, and red overprinting to show train routes. In the surrounding countryside are several forts, parks and forests. Locates Fort d'Aubervilliers, Fort du Mont Valerien, Fort d'Issy, Fort de Vanves, Fort de Montrouge, Fort de Bicetre, Fort d'Ivry and Fort Charenton. The upper half of the folio sheet has six smaller plans of Boulogne, Le Havre, Cherbourg, Toulon Harbour, Brest, and Marseilles. Beautifully and finely engraved in Fullarton's style. Close trimmed at bottom edge, as issued. A few, short edge tears, well away from image, repaired with archival tape on verso. Some hinge tape remnants on verso.
