1) Carte Geographique, Statistique et Historique de l'Amerique Meridionale is a handsome map of the entire continent of South America from the French edition of Carey & Lea's atlas, published in 1825 by Jean Alexandre Buchon. The copper engraved map is filled with detail of the countries, cities and topography. The map measures 11.8 x 16" on a page flanked with text, 24 x 17" overall.
2) Geographical, Statistical, and Historical Map of Chili was published in Carey & Lea's atlas of 1822. It features Chile in a much smaller configuration than we see today, extending only from the Atacama Desert down to ChiloƩ Island. The map measures 9.5 x 15.5" on a sheet of text, 21.8 x 17.5" overall.

Condition: B+

1) Good original color on a strong sheet with a couple small spots. 2) Original color on a sheet with a couple printer's creases and some short tears, repaired on the verso with archival tape.
