Scarce, large map of the continent extending to the East Indies. The map incorporates Nicolas Witsen's Siberian cartography, and Hokkaido (here called "Yedso") is shown attached to the mainland with a large land mass shown to the west. Papua New Guinea is shown with a suggested attachment to Australia via a coastline named Carpentaria. Nearby, the island of New Britain (Nova Britania) is shown with an incomplete coastline. The decorative cartouche is filled with the exotic people and animals of the continent surrounded by jewels and goods representing the wealth of the Orient.
