20.7 x 15 inches
52.6 x 38.1 cm
Fine map of the region that includes the coastline and the cities of Nantes and Rochelle prominently delineated. Richly ornamented with a banner-style title cartouche, the royal arms, a compass rose, sailing ship and a distance scale topped by a wine barrel and flanked by two adorable putti. Dutch text on verso.
A very dark impression on a sound sheet with a few faint stains in the map and some irregular toning in the top and bottom blank margin. Lower portion of centerfold reinforced on the verso with archival tape.
