This uncommon sheet shows eastern Texas from Indian Territory to the Gulf detailing the system of locks and dams proposed to make the Trinity River navigatable between Dallas and the Gulf. The canal was never built. The map details an extensive railroad network with all lines named. Extends east and west to include Nacogdoches and Comanche, and north to show Indian Territory. Bold titling and large arrow-style pointer with compass rose embellish the map. A rarely seen issue.
