A scarce edition of this geography that features a large and very detailed map of North Carolina along with four pages of text devoted to the state. This handsome example is filled with maps of the states and other parts of the world interspersed throughout the text, and a few larger maps including the World in Hemispheres, North America, the United States, and South America. In all, there are 39 wax engraved, hand colored maps and numerous uncolored vignettes of important people, places and events that illustrate the lessons within the text. A previous owner had the binding restored with new end papers, signatures tightened, and new quarter cloth on spine. A very sound example. Complete. 4to. Hardbound with pictorial paper covers, frontis, title page, text and maps, advertisements, 86 pp.
