Very graphic pair of plans from Pufendorf's chronicle on The Northern Wars and military campaigns of Sweden's King Charles X. The layout is strongly engraved with decorative cartouches and simulated picture frame borders. 1) Ichnographia Delineatio Corsorae… depicts the fortress and town of Korsör oriented with north to the left and a ferocious sea battle in the foreground. (12.3 x 9.5").
2) Ichnographia Helsingorae et Arcis Croneburgensis… is a bird's-eye plan of Helsingore depicting the battle of September 6, 1658. Nicely engraved with a landscape scene featuring windmills in the foreground, sailing ships, a compass rose, decorative title cartouche and bold border. (12.2 x 9.8")
