Very nice group showing the United States during the mid-19th century.

1) United States An uncommon map of the United States featuring either the Republic of Texas or the new state shown in its largest configuration with a stovepipe boundary extending northwest to include Santa Fe. Wisconsin and Iowa territories are both greatly enlarged and stretch to the Canadian border. The huge Western Territory claims all those regions that would become Oklahoma, Kansas, the Dakotas, Wyoming and Montana. J. Gellatly was active in the 1840s and 1850s. William and Robert Chambers (atlas publishers) were active between 1845 and 1895, their first listed atlas being 1845. Original outline color (10 x 8") .
2) United States circa 1857 with large western territories and proposed railroads. Original hand color (12 x 9.8") .
3) United States, with Florida in inset by A. & S. Arrowsmith, London circa 1821. Original outline color (9.5 x 7.5").
4) United States with the Pacific Northwest in inset by Archibald Fullerton & Co., Glasgow, circa 1830. Black and white engraving (10 x 8").
5) United States by Thomas Kelly, circa 1835. Black and white engraving (9.8 x 7.5").
6) United States by Orr & Smith, London, circa 1834. Black and white engraving (8.3 x 10").
7) United States and Canada by A & C Black, Edinburgh, circa 1849. Original hand color (9.8 x 8").
