This complete, revised edition school atlas is illustrated with 22 copper-engraved maps in outline color, and includes a double-page, full-color map of the world in two hemispheres, the continents, United States, West Indies, Australia and major regions in Europe. The North America map shows the Southwest region, from the southern boundary of present day Oregon, eastward to the Rockies, and southward down the Rio Puerco to the Gulf of Mexico, belonging to Mexico or New Spain. The United States map shows the large Arkansas Territory with Florida in an inset, and the West largely unexplored. The map of Australia delineates South Australia and shows only detail along the coastlines. A fancy, engraved title page and table of contents grace the front. 8vo, hardbound in original brown cloth and quarter calf spine and corners. Gilt title and fancy embossing on front cover. A nice copy of a hard to find school atlas.
