Lovely, miniature map of Provence with the cities of Avignon, Marseille, Arles and Nice located. The regions of Langedoc and the Vaucluse are noted as well. The map is decorated with a strapwork title cartouche at lower left, and a scale of miles at the top. The map was engraved by the brothers Ambrose and Ferdinand Arsenius who had been assistants to Frans Hogenburg and co-engravers of Ortelius' folio Theatrum. This series of maps was accompanied by text by Michel Coignet and was published by Jan B. Vrients. Italian text on verso.
