This very rare and unusual bird's-eye view of Antwerp created by Michael Aitsinger depicts a tremendous land and sea battle in the foreground within a maze of an early and complex dike system. The scene is filled with dozens of ships, forts and armies marching over floating bridges. Of particular curiosity is an area of water containing many ships, but also churches and trees. This fascinating example has wide, untrimmed margins and is further embellished with a compass rose and coat of arms.
