Large folding pocket map that details the main auto roads, steam railroads and ferries for the area from Manhattan to just within the boundary of Suffolk County. The roads are boldly printed in red. Folds into pictorial wrappers, 4 x 8.5", advertising a "List of New Road Maps." Inside cover is a fine advertisement for Socony Motor Gasoline by Standard Co. of N.Y., and on the back cover the ad is for the Thermoid Rubber Company to promote their "Thermoid Hydraulic Compressed 100 per cent Brake Linings." Map is too large and unwieldy to be useful on the road, suggesting the reason it has survived in such nice condition. The map has no date, but we've dated it from the Thermoid ad on back urging motorists to support "the 1918 Brake Inspection movement." An uncommon issue.
