This is the lower left sheet of the four-sheet, French edition of Montresor's important map by George Le Rouge, with place names in English. This Revolutionary War period map includes New York City with a good portion of New Jersey and extends from the tip of Long Island to the border of Pennsylvania and north to Livingston with good detail of the Hudson River. The land grants of Little and Great Nine Partners are noted in present-day Dutchess County, NY. This land grant was made in 1697, and many towns grew out of that piece of land near the Hudson River. This uncommon map also shows counties, churches, forts, manors, coastal soundings and the names of some residents among its amazing details.
